The Purple Spotted Swallowtail is indigenous to the Australasia\/Indomalaya Ecozone. They’re restricted to Papua New Guinea. The habitat where they live is actually extremely endangered; less than 6% of the forest is still standing. They live and thrive in extremely hot places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swallowtail butterflies have large, colorful wings, patterned with black and yellow or black and white. They have a distinctive tail on their hindwings, which gives them their name. The body of a swallowtail butterfly is typically thin and elongated, and they have large, compound eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
